
Jess Maxfield is an academic advisor and adjunct instructor at Monroe Community College. She holds an MS in Library and Information Science and an MA in History from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Her research interests include 19th and early 20th century American history with a focus on death, disease, and disability.
In addition to freelance work, Jess is a book designer for the publishing company Savas Beatie, which produces the Emerging Civil War Series, for which she is an occasional writer. Jess is also the social media and production manager for the theatre group Rudely Stamp’d Historical Impressions, which produces plays and historical docudramas that put historical figures in conversation with each other.
